1月17日晚，第33届西安城墙新春灯会正式亮灯，接下来的39天，紧扣时代主题的炫彩花灯，将成为西安城墙献给市民与游客的新年大礼。

与以往不同的是，本届灯会从一花独放到美美与共，与上海豫园灯会、南京秦淮灯会、莫斯科新年灯会形成联动，各地特色灯组交换展示，送出更多心意与新意。

本届灯会以“盛世阊阖中国年·琉光古今耀长安”为主题，从文昌门至小南门，在2万平方米展区精心打造了盛世长安、欢乐祈愿、锦绣中华、梦幻童真和琉光古今等五大主灯区。其中六大看点不容错过：南门瓮城中，利用数控变光技术、360度旋转变色的贺岁鼠灯，寓意生活的多彩缤纷；数十万只彩色玻璃瓶组成的《鼎盛中华》灯组，在光源照射下更显得通透绚丽；《蘑菇王国》灯组宛如身临童话之境、舒克贝塔重温儿时趣味与美好回忆；“十四运吉祥物”犹抱琵琶半遮面，凸显运动主题；此次城墙灯会的全部花灯使用LED灯，可省电80%左右，更加绿色环保。

2020年大唐芙蓉园新春大潮会在小年夜正式上线，今年大潮会以“唐在心里 年在一起”为主题，各色水陆花灯搭配民俗活动，融合现代科技、潮流装置等，突出参与性与可玩性，全面提升了游园观灯体验。

小年夜当晚，西安大唐芙蓉园和荆州园博园联袂打造的“双城灯会”同时点亮。新春大潮会现场亮灯的仪式现场，也与荆州园博园新春灯会进行了连线互动，为游客带来跨越地域、穿越历史长河的开年文化大餐。同时，在活动现场，大唐芙蓉园还与市民、游客一同见证了“世界最大立式灯笼”吉尼斯纪录的诞生。

本次大潮会的灯组版块分为盛世国韵、酷玩唐潮、天街灯市、庚子新春、梦幻森林、瑶池映月六大展示区，共包含灯组近60组。匠心独具的是，利用大唐芙蓉园景区得天独厚的水域优势，今年大潮会还精心设计了一条以“瑶池映月”为主题的“船游式”赏灯路线，行船期间搭配精彩演出，湖光美景尽收眼底。在芙蓉园的竹里馆，还有一条以“梦幻森林”为主题的沉浸式光影交互步道，利用最新光影技术和科技手段，让游客身临其境、探秘奇幻森林秘境。

从小年开始，大唐不夜城每天都有唐六骏右骁卫巡游、盛世华彩巡游等大型巡游表演。上午11点开始的唐六骏右骁卫巡游通过复原唐代铠甲，将大唐马队与唐右骁卫铠甲展示组成特色队列，让《长安十二时辰》的大唐甲士军容从屏幕走入现实。晚20:00，由“开元盛世”、“上元赏灯”、“夜游长安”三大方阵组成的盛世华彩巡游，分别由身着各色唐代服装的演出者引领，炫美的灯光、匠心独具的花车，体现超大体量的仪仗巡游场面。

与此同时，不夜城的4大文化场馆也联手贺岁。西安美术馆开展十周年系列展览；陕西大剧院上演新春主题演出及秦腔戏曲展演；西安音乐厅献上西安交响乐团新春交响音乐会、金庸武侠影视作品音乐会、久石让动漫经典作品视听交响音乐会；太平洋影城集合鼠年贺岁档大片，推出春节领红包、猜灯谜、积分换好礼等系列主题活动。

1月17日，由西安市委宣传部、西安市文旅局主办，西安中国画院承办的“画说唐朝”主题美术作品展暨画家现场作画活动在大唐不夜城太平洋影城下沉广场拉开帷幕。

活动从下午5点开始，40余位画家身着唐服，画扇面、写春联、写福字、拍抖音，忙得不亦乐乎。不过这些“福”字有些古怪，不是缺一点，便是少一横。原来，这是活动的预留环节，缺失的一点由观众补上，寓意“点福”。

本次活动主题分三部分，一部分是“画说唐朝”主题美术作品展，现场展出了“开元盛世”、“贞观农本”、“曲江盛景”“太白邀约”“唐风马球”等各类唐代主题绘画及扇面作品60余幅。第二部分是主题活动日，在小年夜、大年初一、大年初五、元宵节几个时间节点，举办画家着唐服巡游送福活动；第三部分为常规活动日，在1月17日至2月8日期间，除主题活动日外，每天15：00-21：00，由4位画家着唐装值守、接待讲解并现场作画。据了解，本次活动将持续到元宵节。
